From Hilton Head/ Beaufort
If you are coming from Hilton Head travel to I-95 and proceed North to exit 38. Take a left at the bottom of the ramp onto 68/278 towards Hampton.
If you are traveling from Beaufort head towards Gardens Corner. Pass through the traffic circle as if you were headed to Savannah, and then take your next right onto Old Sheldon Church Road. At the stop sign go right, cross over the train tracks in Yemassee, and continue on 68/278.
From this point the directions from both Hilton Head and Beaufort are the same. At the 601 junction (just before McDonalds) turn right and continue to Crocketville. Take a left onto Sandy Run Road (the only cross road) and continue approximately 3 miles to Turpentine Still Road; the dirt road directly ahead when the hardtop makes a sharp right turn. We are the second house on the right behind the white rail fence on Turpentine Still.
Please note!!! It is possible to get here using a GPS. However, if this is your preferred method of navigating, do note the state route numbers in the directions, as not all roads out here are recognized by their names in some GPS systems. Additionally, you may get to see a few more dirt roads following this approach.
From Columbia
Take I-26 East to Orangeburg exit 145. Go right at bottom of ramp and continue to South 601 (just past Claflin University). Follow 601 to the town of Crocketville. Take a right at the (only) crossroad, Sandy Run Road (SSR 14), and continue approximately 3 miles. The road will make a sharp right turn, but you should not. Continue straight onto the dirt road directly ahead, Turpentine Still Road (SR 25-139). We are the second house on the right behind the white rail fence.
From Charleston
Take US 17 South to Jacksonboro, then SC Rt. 64 to Walterboro. Entering Walterboro take Route 63 (just past the Horizon Gas Station) toward Hampton and Varnville, passing over Route I-95 about 4 miles outside of town. Continue on 63 through Sniders and into Hampton County. 2.7 miles into Hampton County you will come to a crossroads, SSR 14, and identified as 'Sandy Run Road'. Turn right on Sandy Run Road. Continue through two stop signs, over the 601 junction, and proceed approximately 3 miles to a point where the road makes a very sharp right turn. Do not take this turn. Continue straight onto the dirt road,Turpentine Still Road (SR 25-139). We are the second house on the right behind the white rail fence.
